Prp ring topology
Webb14 jan. 2024 · Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) is a standard defined in IEC 62439-3 and is adopted in the ODVA, Inc. EtherNet /IP specification, and is used to create network redundancy by allowing PRP enabled devices to send duplicate Ethernet frames over two independent Local Area Networks (LANs). Webbconnected in a ring, and that the links are ordinary Ethernet links, including proprietary protocols, ITU-T’s G.8032, and ODVA DLR rings. + Fast (≈10 ms) response to a link or node failure. + Some protocols can be plug-and-play. 0 Routing may or may not be optimal, but separate topologies for separate VLANs can be configured by some protocols.

In this configuration, switches are connected in a ring topology using two ports on all switches. Assume the first switch in the ring is the master.
